Founded in 2004, the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma have grown to become the largest & most active non-profit organization in Oklahoma dedicated to supporting Parkinson’s patients and their families. By offering educational conferences, support groups, voice therapy programs, and individual consultations, we are able to fulfill our mission of improving the quality of life of the estimated 15,000 Parkinson’s patients throughout the state.
Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s, affecting more than one million people in the United States. It does not discriminate, affecting the young & the old, the rich & the poor, mothers & fathers. They are stricken with a disease that is progressive, irreversible, and interferes with their physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. While researchers are working hard to find a cure, there is still a ways to go. Until that day comes, Parkinson’s patients throughout Oklahoma can call on us at the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma for help.
Recently in August of 2014 we opened our Tulsa office as part of our effort to reach every Oklahoman affected by Parkinson’s.In the time that has since passed we have experienced tremendous growth, growing our programming and reaching new families! We look forward to continuing to develop new programs and partnerships that increase the services we provide to Parkinson’s families throughout Eastern Oklahoma and across the state.
